Infant Care Built Around Your Baby

Leaving a brand-new baby with someone else is one of the hardest things a parent can do. Our infant room was designed to make that step feel a little softer — for you and for them.

What Makes Our Infant Room Different

A Quiet, Predictable Place for the First Year

Infants don't need flashing lights or busy schedules — they need warm arms, familiar voices, and consistent routines. Our infant room at Marietta Academy is set up exactly that way: low ratios so each baby is held and talked to often, individual feeding and nap schedules, and a few dedicated caregivers who learn your baby's cues.

As a DECAL Quality Rated childcare center (license CCLC-502), our infant program meets or exceeds Georgia's standards for safety, staff training, and developmentally appropriate practice. Caregivers are CPR and First Aid certified, and our cribs, changing areas, and nursery layouts follow current safe-sleep and sanitation guidelines.

A Typical Day in the Infant Room

What Your Baby Experiences

Feeding On Their Schedule

We follow your baby's feeding plan — breast milk, formula, or transitioning to solids. We track every bottle, ounce, and meal in a daily report you receive at pickup.

Naps That Fit Your Baby

Each infant naps on their own schedule in their own crib. We follow safe-sleep practices: back-sleeping, firm mattress, no loose bedding.

Sensory Play & Tummy Time

Soft textures, music, books, mirrors, and supervised tummy time build the motor and language foundation babies need in the first year.

The Same Caring Faces

Consistency matters most in the first year. Your baby will get to know a small, dedicated team of caregivers — the people who learn what your baby's different cries mean.

Two Languages from Day One

Our bilingual staff speaks both English and Spanish. Babies absorb the rhythm and sounds of both languages naturally from the very first months.

Daily Communication

You'll know exactly how your baby's day went — feedings, naps, diapers, mood, milestones. We believe parents shouldn't have to guess.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What age do you start accepting infants?
We accept infants starting at 6 weeks old. Many families enroll right after maternity leave ends.
What is the infant-to-caregiver ratio?
Our infant ratios meet or exceed Georgia DECAL standards. Specific ratios are confirmed during your tour because they depend on current group composition.
Do you follow my baby's specific feeding and nap schedule?
Yes. We follow each baby's individual plan for bottles (breast milk or formula), introduction of solids, and nap times. You provide the plan; we follow it and update you daily.
How do you handle safe sleep?
Babies sleep on their backs in their own crib, on a firm mattress, with no loose blankets, toys, or bumpers — per current AAP and Georgia child care safe-sleep guidelines.
Is your staff trained in infant CPR and First Aid?
Yes. Caregivers in our infant room are CPR and First Aid certified, and complete ongoing professional development in infant development and safety.
What do I need to bring for my baby each day?
Typically: bottles or breast milk, formula if needed, diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, and any comfort items. We provide cribs, sheets, and basic supplies. We confirm the exact list at enrollment.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. Our bilingual staff speaks English and Spanish. Babies are exposed to both languages naturally throughout the day.
How can I tour the infant room?
